Ant's Nest

Ant's Nest is one of two privately owned bus homes situated on a private game reserve in the Malaria free Waterberg region of South Africa. Ant and Tessa have been offering guests a completely tailor made experience for the last 16 years and spoiling them with unsurpassed flexibility.

Need to Know

There are 6 en suite bedrooms, large heated pool and facilities for the kids such as sand pit, trampoline and badminton court. Dining at night can be private either on the room's veranda or somewhere in a stunning spot in and around the lodge alternatively guests are also welcome to dine together.


Safaris included in the rates are game drives, game walks, horse riding and mountain biking. Guests can go out daily for an activity of their choice. This can be in the form of a horse ride, game drive and or walk which can be combined.

Game to be seen on Ant's reserve include white rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, a variety of plains game such as oryx, impala, hartebeest to name but a few as well as over 300 species of birds

There is a variety of additional activities on offer such as a trip to the local school and orphanage. Arts and crafts shopping in town, day trip to Lapalala wilderness reserve, elephant back safaris, night sky safaris, big 5 game drive etc.


Ant's Nest can sleep 12 guests and the accommodation includes two suites and two separate cottages. There is also a large 15m heated swimming pool.


There are two suites both en suite with rooms which can be made as doubles or twins. There are also two separate cottages away from the main house. All rooms are en suite and equipped with the necessary amenities and mini bar. Ant's Nest is great for exclusive use bookings when multi generational groups book it or a group of friends travelling together. However as the rooms are all very private as well, the rooms can be booked on a room to room basis as well.

Rates start from ZAR 2800 per person per night to ZAR 4850 per person per night. The rates are fully inclusive of all meals, all drinks, horse riding, game drives, game walks, mountain biking, baby sitting and laundry.

Kids of all ages are wholeheartedly welcome to stay with us and enjoy all activities on offer with their parents. We do also include child minding in our kids rates should parents wish to do a separate or longer activity without the kids. Both bush homes have sandpits, trampolines, badminton courts, toys and heated pools to keep the young ones busy
