Lewa Wilderness

Lewa Wilderness is one of Kenya’s oldest and most private safari ventures. The Craig family has passed down from one generation to the next a distinct passion for wildlife, conservation and tourism, and they proudly continue to run Lewa Wilderness lodge and Walking Wild camel safaris. This place is as much a home as it is a truly unique and personal safari experience. The lodge is just ten exclusive rooms: six cottages tucked into the hillside overlooking Lewa’s Eastern Marania Valley, plus two garden cottages set amidst the beautiful green lawns. At Lewa Wilderness, game viewing is not just done by vehicle. Activities on offer include guided walks, scenic flights, horse back riding, camel riding, and much more.

Flying in the open cockpit Wacco biplane over parts of Mount Kenya, forests, herds of game, and through ravines that are otherwise virtually inaccessible. Game viewing is one of the best in Africa - with the privacy of a maximum of three cars watching game at a time.
