Sirikoi

A member of the Condé Nast Traveler 2017 Gold List, Sirikoi is a beautiful, family owned lodge surrounded by Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Overlooking a natural waterhole, in a shady acacia grove on the foothills of Mount Kenya, Sirikoi offers some of the best wildlife viewing in East Africa. At Sirikoi we strive to share our surroundings and the wildlife with our guests in a way which, while offering the highest level of comfort, makes little impression on the environment. Through a combination of working with the local communities, using sustainable energy and conscientious recycling, our aim is to contribute to the conservation of this corner of Africa. We are proud to have been awarded a Gold rating by Ecotourism Kenya.

Highlights

Elephants, buffalo, rhinos and other animals are frequent visitors to the waterhole in front of the deck where guests dine and gather around the campfire under the stars. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the guides are exceptional. A bonus is the unique organic kitchen garden that supplies much of the fruit, vegetables, herbs and salads that go into Sirikoi’s sumptuous cuisine – a walk around the garden is not to be missed.

Need to Know

Sirikoi lies just north of the Equator, at an altitude of around 5,500 feet, against the backdrop of Mount Kenya’s peaks and with Lewa’s acacia savannah spreading to the north. Days are usually warm, and early mornings and evenings chilly, so bring layers to wrap up in. Lewa is served by an airstrip and daily scheduled flights by both Air Kenya and Safarilink.
