About Ingram

Tired of the constraints of 'big company' travel Ingram founded To Escape To in 2003 to work at the forefront of innovative travel to Africa. Following his passion for Africa he left London on a 2 month 'site inspection' across the continent finally arriving in Cape Town never to leave again. Engaged in Seychelles, married in Durban, honeymooned in Malawi and now raising a family in Cape Town Ingram really does live his love for Africa. A firm believer that there is more to a safari than a 4x4 Ingram is always on the lookout for new ways to experience the wildlife, scenery and people of Africa.

Be it trail running through the Lesotho Mountains, sailing between Mozambican Islands or hitching a lift on a camel in Kenya getting off the beaten track and leaving behind the tourist crowds is always the main objective. "There is no bigger luxury in the Africa than to watch a mother nurture her young in the wild or share the shade of a tree in the midday sun with a local in complete isolation from the modern world".

To Escape To

The concept of To Escape To evolved from the idea of providing a unique travel experience not just the standard holiday in the sun. It is for people who want to see the full glory of the country they are visiting and not the interior of a lacklustre hotel room, to visit and stay in different places, away from the hassle of the tourist crowds. There have been countless speculative trips down winding tracks, hoping to find a hideaway on a remote stretch of beach, or a spectacular villa with commanding views. This has culminated in a superb portfolio of luxury villas, boutique apartments, hip hotels and perfectly-placed guest houses. We visit every place we feature.

More akin to a personal secretary than a tour operator, To Escape To offers expert advice and a comprehensive booking service, from flight tickets and transfers to added extras such as romantic restaurant bookings, alternative safari experiences and surprise snorkelling excursions to deserted islands. Take a trip with To Escape To and find out how easy it is to be inspired.
