Zwartberg View Mountain Retreat

Zwartberg View is arguably the most unique game lodge in South Africa...the game comes out of the bush every night to drink and some species to get additional feed right around the main deck. It is not uncommon for guests to eat dinner surrounded by six species of big game, and later, small predators visiting the feeding table - the property is a private nature reserve and guests can take guided or unguided walks along marked trails into some of the most wonderful karoo scenery and encounter as many as nine species of game, including giraffe and zebra amongst one of the richest floral kingdoms in the world.

South Africa

Dinner and breakfast are fabulous at Zwartberg View, meals are served on the main deck and every night a different grill, straight off the open fire to the table - ostrich, venison, thick beef steaks, whilst breakfast is three courses including personalised fruit platter, bacon and eggs and filter coffee. At dinner there is always game to be seen and photographed at close quarters at the deck.

Need to Know

Zwartberg View offers the most unique safari experience to guests - tranquil surroundings, amazing scenery and awesome night skies - and really close up experiences with wild African game (no tame animals) including genet, aardvark and porcupine amngst the smaller creatures visiting the deck.
