An inspired and lovingly restored Merchant’s House, this boutique hotel has eleven stylishly furnished rooms structured around an airy central courtyard. The rooftop ‘Tea House’ hosts one of Stonetown’s most renowned restaurants offering a stylish ambience amidst the sound of the calls to prayer from the town’s many mosques.

The roof top Tea House Restaurant – The Seafood Based, Set Five Course ‘Taste Safari’ Degustation Menu is prepared daily by our Zanzibari Chefs. The Sunset Hour is an integral part of the experience, so Diners are encouraged to arrive at any time after 5.30p.m. to enjoy a ‘Sundowner’ before dinner, which is served at 7p.m. Reservations Recommended.

The Secret Garden – set amidst lushly landscaped hidden ‘Ruins’, open to the skies, it has a Zanzibari inspired A La Carte Menu. Look out for live music performed by The Dhow Countires Music Academy. Open for Lunch and Dinner

Zanzibar Stone Town offers a unique cultural experience, fascinating street life, a range of restaurants, interesting shopping, annual Music and Film festivals such as Busara and ZIFF, and traditional music concerts at the Dhow Countries Music Academy. The Rooms

All rooms but Mimi have their own private veranda; guests in Mimi are welcome to use the rooftop tea house as their outside space. All rooms are equipped with a small fridge, air conditioner, fan, and high ceiling mosquito net.

The double rooms have one queen size double antique Swahili bed, and enclosed en suite WC with bath and shower that is open or semi-open to the room. Therefore the double rooms are not suitable as twins, although we can add an extra bed for a child or baby cot when needed.

Aida is a duplex, suitable as a double or for a family with up to three children. On the first level there is a queen size bed in the main area, a single daybed in the sitting area, and two singles in the mezzanine loft. Both WC and bath are en suite and enclosed.

Fusing a restored nineteenth-century Swahili sultan’s palace and Zanzibar’s first photographic studio, this multi-storied small hotel has an inner courtyard, eleven unique antiques-filled rooms, and one of Zanzibar’s best restaurants.

All rooms are equipped with a small fridge, air conditioner, fan, and high ceiling mosquito net.
