The Lodge Feline Fields

Inspired by the simplicity of the Kalahari landscape in which it rests, The Lodge is an inviting oasis where indulgently comfortable interiors integrate seamlessly with the raw African beauty outside.

With just four suites, The Lodge is the ultimate private African safari experience. Located in the heart of a truly spectacular and unique landscape, it will inspire even the well-travelled and renew the spirit of all who visit.

The Lodge was envisioned to be the ‘perfect’ safari camp. It embodies authenticity, luxury and simplicity to create a camp that has been thoughtfully planned to be as environmentally sensitive as possible.

The Lodge operates in harmony with its surroundings with architecture designed for energy and ecological conservation, materials from low energy and renewable sources coupled with operational practices for efficient energy and water usage.

  • Game Drives: The Lodge offers daily game drives in our vast Kalahari conservancy area. Enjoy private safaris where you will drive for hours without seeing another soul and escape from the rest of the world.
  • Walking Safaris: Our skilled and experienced guides will escort you through the bush and introduce you to the small wonders of the Kalahari.

Wildlife HighlightsWildlife Highlights

Kalahari wildlife includes elephants, brown hyena, leopard, gemsbok, wildebeest, an occasional lion but also meerkats, mangouste, honey badgers and aardvark.

We are fortunate to have two packs of the rare wild dogs close to the lodge which visit us from time to time.

Each suite is large and roomy and includes a wide teak deck around the pool. The suites are situated well away from each other, giving you the feeling of having your own home in Africa.

An extra King size bed draped in billowing mosquito nets forms the centre of each suite. A beautiful fan on each ceiling, just above the bed keeps the air cool and, while there is always a refreshing breeze coming through the gaze windows at night, the temperature is always comfortable for sleeping even at the hottest time of the year.

A lounge area with a 150cm daybed sofa and coffee table can be used as a further sleeping area for children.

The spacious bathroom, with beautiful views over the Kalahari landscape, contains a generous free-standing bath and shower, double sinks and a private toilet.

An Engelbox safari fridge with ice cold drinks is provided in the room.

Each suite has its own private 4x6m swimming pool surrounded by a teak deck complete with sun lounges.

An outside staircase leads to the upper deck, under thatch but open to nature. Here, private dinners can be arranged, or, while away the day curled up on the woven daybed with a good book. For the adventurous, sleep out at night on the woven daybed, with only a mosquito net between you and nature.
