Makakatana Bay Lodge

Makakatana Bay Lodge is the only privately-owned and owner-managed game lodge within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. 

Experience this magnificent area from the comfort of our spacious rooms, set on raised decks within the wilderness of the game park.

Makakatana Bay Lodge is a short drive from either Durban or Richard’s Bay. After you’ve settled into your room, our experienced guides will take you on an afternoon game drive before enjoying a delicious dinner and an evening under the African stars.

The five rooms are bright and spacious, integrating comfort and luxury with the natural environment. Set in the dune forest, the grounds surrounding the luxury suites are frequented by warthog, red duiker, nyala, bush babies, and a variety of bird life.

Children under the age of 6 are booked subject to special consent of owners, or if there is a group family booking and are to be under supervision of their parents at all times.
